The Greatest Adventure
When he left everything to follow Jesus Christ, Peter had no idea what he was in for: adventures he never imagined, persecution he never expected and victories that the world still talks about 2,000 years later. Peter was a simple fisherman, and yet Jesus told Peter he would receive power when the Holy Spirit came on him. He exhorted Peter to make disciples of all nations, teaching them to observe all that Christ commanded.
Youll never be bored if your lifes goal is to fulfill the Great Commission. Jesus said, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.” The apostle Peter started out a fearful follower, (remember, he denied even knowing Jesus). But the Holy Spirit changed him into an adventurous leader, and a powerful witness for Jesus.
The greatest faith adventure is taking God at his Word, acting on his promises, and seeing what happens when you do. Commit yourself today and say, “Lord, give me the experience of winning someone to Christ.” And then let the adventure begin!
