Differences and Similarities: Love

Christians want to reach others with Gods love by sharing the message of Jesus Christ. But sometimes we think the differences between us are just too great.

My friend, today I want you to remember that we are all human. And as humans made in the image of God, we all have the capacity to give and receive love. LOVE is something everyone longs for.

Now, what distinguishes Christians from nonChristians when it comes to love? Quite simply: the ability to extend love when our feelings are against it.

How do we do this? By the power of the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, “God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”

This is what enables us to love difficult people – even our enemies – with Gods love.

Those who do not know Jesus Christ are intrigued by the way Christians can extend such nonsensical love. I challenge you today – dont just love someone, but explain the source of your love. Tell about Jesus Christ.

The Spiritual Battle

Did you know that if youre actively sharing your faith then you are on the front-line of a battle? Its a purely spiritual battle, but its real. The weapons are real. The enemy is real. And, the battle for eternal souls is a battle that is worth fighting.

The Bible says that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil.”

What does that mean? It means our perspective is limited. We think that we struggle against things we touch and see. Instead, the Bible says that its the SPIRITUAL war were experiencing. On one side is Satan trying to turn people away from God. On the other side is God seeking to reconciling people to Himself through the cross of His son Jesus Christ.

If you follow Jesus today, you are on Gods side. God wants to use you to expand His Kingdom. But, Christians are NOT free from the battle. Christians simply know they are fighting on the winning side. (Because God already reigns victorious!)

The question is: How hard are you fighting? Are you a threat to the Kingdom of Darkness? Are you telling other people about Jesus? Are you fighting the battle for eternal souls? Its worth it!

A Threat to the Enemy

Many people in the West claim that they are Christians, but words alone dont necessarily mean that they know Jesus Christ. So, we need to make sure that were a witness to everyone – those who say they are Christians and those who dont.

Some people think that being a Christian is a religious duty, a matter of rituals. Other people think that they are a Christian because their grandparents were. But, neither of those is true. A follower of Jesus is someone who has given their heart and life to Him. Its someone who enjoys life with Jesus Christ here on Earth and will enjoy eternal life with Him in heaven.

Since so many people dont really know what it means to be a Christian, we need to tell them. Satan would love for us to be quiet and just let people think they know our Savior. But, we need to fight! We need to tell our world about Jesus. God will give you the words. All you have to do is be willing to tell others about the cross and the resurrection of our Lord.

Are you a threat to the enemy? Are you reaching your world for Jesus Christ? Ask the Lord, even right now, to give you the courage and opportunity to tell a friend about Him and then go ahead and do it. In the end, that friend of yours may come to faith in Jesus Christ, and boy will they thank you as the ages go by in eternity for the day that you talked to them about Jesus. So do it and be blessed.

Opposites Clash

The saying goes that “opposites attract.” While that may be true in some aspects of male/female relationships, it does not apply in the ultimate fight of good against evil. In the battle between God and Satan, opposites definitely do NOT attract. They clash.

The Bible says that the acts of our sinful nature are obvious. They include sexual immorality, impurity, idolatry, hatred, discord, jealousy, envy, and the like. These are weapons Satan uses to perpetuate his evil agenda in our world. Now consider the fruits of the Holy Spirit. The Bible defines them as “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.”

Christians are on Gods side in the spiritual battle. Our weapons are completely contrary to Satans. They clash with the enemys weapons. So I ask you today: Which weapons are you using? If you indulge your sinful nature day in and day out, you are not using the weapons from the Lord, for sure. And that means you are NOT a threat to the enemy!

Today, may you choose to stand boldly as Gods soldier, as Gods warrior, in the battle against evil. Engage in the spiritual battle for eternal souls. Because, the battle is real, the battle is on – its going on incessantly – and you and I are Gods servants to reach out to those who need Jesus. So, lets do it!

Eyes on the Prize

We serve a victorious God! Jesus Christ conquered death and Satan when He rose from the dead! But the spiritual battle between good and evil will continue being fought on this earth until the day the Lord Jesus Christ returns in all His glory.

Today, lets focus not on the enemy, but on the Victor. Because when your eyes are on Jesus Christ, He directs your steps. And when He directs your steps, everything you do will be a threat to the enemy.

The Bible tells us to: “Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.”

My friend, this is exciting news! When we live our lives as representatives of the Lord Jesus, by definition we are a threat to Satans evil plans. We do not have to fear the enemy. We do not have to strategize how to defeat him. We simply let God fill us as He guides our every word and every deed. We threaten the enemy as we reach our world for Jesus Christ.

Will you do it today? Will you tell someone about Jesus our Savior and our Lord? That is the best weapon for the good of people and for the good of the nation.
