Don’t Judge

I remember meeting Nick a few years ago. He was a 19-year-old who wore black clothes and lots of make-up. But despite his appearance, Nick was sincerely searching for the truth. He told me he had checked out different religions, and was drawn mostly to Christianity.

Because of his appearance, some Christians in his community had labeled him as a homosexual and Satanist – which he wasnt! So, Nick was confused about what to believe.

I was really impressed with Nick. He was honest and sincere about his search for truth. I shared from the Gospel of John, Chapter 8, where Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Nick said to me, “Well, Ill definitely put it under consideration.” Although he didnt surrender His life to Jesus that night, Nick realized that not all Christians were judging him. And Jesus Christ loved him just the way he was.

We need be careful to not pass judgment on kids who look and act differently than our own. Instead, its our privilege and calling to love these young people into the Saviors arms. If youve shared Jesus Christ with a young person, Id love to hear your story. Please send me a note at radio@palau.org

The Pastor and his Special Son

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and hiseleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out GospelTracts. This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down rain.

The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said, ‘OK, dad, I’m ready.’

His Pastor dad asked, ‘Ready for what? ‘Dad, it’s time we gather our tracts together and go out. Dad responds, ‘Son, it’s very cold outside and it’s pouring down rain.’

The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, ‘But Dad, aren’t people still going to Hell, even though it’s raining?
Dad answers, ‘Son, I am not going out in this weather.

De spondently, the boy asks, ‘Dad, can I go? Please? His father hesitated for a moment then said, ‘Son, you can go. Hereare the tracts, be careful son.

‘Thanks Dad! And with that, he was off and out into the rain. This eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street aGospel Tract.

After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted.

Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up thesidewalk to the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered.

He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited butstill no answer.
Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to leave, but something stopped him.

Again, he turned to the door and rang the b ell and knocked loudly on the door withhis fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch!

He rang again and this time the door slowly opened.

Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. Shesoftly asked, ‘Whatcan I do for you, son?’ With radiant eyes and a smile that lit up her world, thislittle boy said, ‘Ma’am, I’m sorry if f I disturbed you, but I justwant to tell youthat *JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU* and I came to give you my very lastGospel Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE.’

With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave. She called to him as he departed. ‘Thank you, son! And God Bless You! Well, the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As theservice began, he asked, ‘Does anybody have testimony or want to sayanything?’

Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her feet.

As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face,’No one in this church knows me. I’ve never been here before. You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on sometime ago, leaving me totally alone in this world. Last Sunday, beinga particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in myheart that I came to the end of the line where I no longer had anyhope or will to live.

So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the atticof my home.. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on thechair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. Standingon that chair, so lonely and brokenhearted I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me.I thought, ‘I’ll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away.’

I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louderand more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly.

I thought to myself again, ‘Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me.’ I loosened the rope from my neck and started for the front door, all the while the bell rang louder and louder.

When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, forthere on myfront porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I had everseen in my life..His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you!

The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice, ‘Ma’ am, I just cameto tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU.’ Then he gave me this

Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.

As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up to myattic to get myrope and chair. I wouldn’t be needing them any more.

You see– -I am now a Happy Child of the KING. Since the address of your church was on the back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here topersonall y sayTHANK YOU to God’s little angel who came just in the nick of time andby so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in hell.

There was not a dry eye in the church. And as shouts of praise and honor to THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building,Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was seated.

He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.

Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honor for his son…. Except for One.

Our Father also allowed His Son to go out into a cold and dark world. He received His Son back with joy unspeakable, and as all of heavenshouted praises and honor to The King, the Father sat His beloved Son on a throne far above all principality and power and every name that is named.

The Spiritual Battle

Did you know that if youre actively sharing your faith then you are on the front-line of a battle? Its a purely spiritual battle, but its real. The weapons are real. The enemy is real. And, the battle for eternal souls is a battle that is worth fighting.

The Bible says that “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil.”

What does that mean? It means our perspective is limited. We think that we struggle against things we touch and see. Instead, the Bible says that its the SPIRITUAL war were experiencing. On one side is Satan trying to turn people away from God. On the other side is God seeking to reconciling people to Himself through the cross of His son Jesus Christ.

If you follow Jesus today, you are on Gods side. God wants to use you to expand His Kingdom. But, Christians are NOT free from the battle. Christians simply know they are fighting on the winning side. (Because God already reigns victorious!)

The question is: How hard are you fighting? Are you a threat to the Kingdom of Darkness? Are you telling other people about Jesus? Are you fighting the battle for eternal souls? Its worth it!

Average or Avid?

Lets say youre not merely an average basketball fan, lets say you make great sacrifices to support your hobby. You buy season tickets to watch your favorite team. You wear your teams colors. Not even a stranger could mistake your love for basketball!

Now, thats an AVID fan – they are FANATIC you could say. Theres also the AVERAGE fan. This person says he likes basketball. But the average fan really doesnt have a favorite team, doesnt care if he misses a game, and wouldnt pay for tickets, for sure.

When it comes to following Jesus Christ, are you a fanatic, so to speak? Or are you like the “average” basketball fan? Are you content with missing opportunities to reach your world for Jesus? Are you satisfied being just an “average,” instead of ACTIVE, Christian?

In the Bible Jesus says, “He who is not for me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.” When you are not living all-out for Jesus, you are not engaging in the spiritual battle for eternal souls.

Today I ask you again: are you a threat to the Kingdom of Darkness? Are you actively sharing as well as living your faith? People really do need to hear the Good News of eternal life and forgiveness.

I was reading in John 17 just this morning, and boy was I challenge that people need to hear that God is calling them. So do it, and be Gods mouthpiece.

How Do I Get To Heaven? Just How Good Do I Have To Be?

Have you ever done something that you know inside is wrong? Have you ever disobeyed your parents? Or told a lie, or taken something that belongs to someone else, or even been mad at someone without a reason. Weve all messed up and done stuff like that, this is what the Bible calls Sin. Many people believe that if theyre good they will go to Heaven, but the Bible says that no one can ever be good enough to get to Heaven! It says that Every sinner deserves to die, and we are ALL sinners, this means that we All deserve to die.

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:22
According to the law . . .
without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.

This means that without punishment, or blood, we cant be forgiven, thats why Jesus came from Heaven. He Loves us so much thatHe wanted us to have a way to be forgiven from our sins; He didnt want us to die!

Jesus came from Heaven, was born as a baby and grew up on earth, just like all of us! But, because Jesus is also God, He never sinned, not even once! He was perfect in every way so that He could die and take the punishment we were supposed to get.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says

God saved you by His grace when youbelieved.

And you cant take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

This is like when you were born, you were not born because you had done anything good, you werent even around yet! Your parents had you because they love you and wanted you, and now that youre getting older and can understand how much your parents love you, you want to obey them and do what they say so they will be proud of you and youll make them happy.

This is how it is with God, He loved us so much that He sent Jesus to save us, and now that we understand that He loves us so much that He came from Heaven and He died in our place, we should want to please Him too, and really make Him proud of us.

This would be like if your big Brother had seen you do something bad, like say you were throwing a ball in the house when you knew you shouldnt be, and you knocked over an expensive lamp! When your Dad found out about it and was going to punish you, your Brother took the punishment for you so you wouldnt have to. In this same way, Jesus took our punishment when he died on the cross for us. Now THATS Love!

ButJesus didnt just die for us, you see, Jesus rose from the dead and walked out of the grave to show that sin and death no longer has any power over us! And although we may die here on Earth, He will bring us back to life in Heaven and will bring us back to live with Him on the New Earth!

If you believe in Jesus, and trust that He took your punishment for your sin, you will go to Heaven.

You should talk toJesus. Praying is not some big deal that only grown ups can do,praying is just talking to God, like you would talk to your brother, sister, or your best friend. You don’t have to kneel to talk with God. You can talk to Him anywhere, anytime, about anything! Tell Him how your day went; ask for help when you feel scared or when youre doing something hard. Tell Him youre sorry if youve done something bad, and then try not to do it again.

Gods not going to kick you out of Heaven because you did something bad, not if you have put your trust in Jesus to save you. We all make mistakes, even after we become a Christian, but we have to try to do what is right, what we know inside our heart that God would want us to do.

Its like your Mom or Dad, they wouldnt kick you outside to sleep out in the dark and cold in the yard because you spilled red soda on the new carpet. They may be disappointed in you that you didnt listen when they told you to stay at the table and dont takeyour drinkon the new carpet, but they love you, and will most likely discipline you and not let you have red soda for a while, but they will still let you live inside the nice warm house with them where you belong. And you will still be their child, no matter what!

If you believe Jesus loves you, and you want to live for Him and go to live with Him in Heaven one day, you can ask Him something like this:

Jesus, I love You,

And I thank You for taking my

Punishment for me so I can live.
Please forgive me and come into my heart
And help me live my life the way You want me to,

The way I should. And take me to live with You in Heaven someday.
Amen!
