கிறிஸ்துமஸ் செய்தி

மகிழ்ச்சி ததும்ப, மனுக்குலம் மனம் பொங்க, வீசும் தென்றல் தரும் சுகம் போன்று நம் உள்ளமும் சந்தோஷம் கொள்ள, கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவே, நீர் பெத்லேகேம் என்னும் சிற்றூரில் எளிய ஒரு மாட்டுக் குடிலினில் மனிதனாக பிறந்தீர். காரிருளில் தீபமானீர்,

கடும்புயலில் தஞ்சமானீர். மன்னன் என்றார். தெய்வம் என்றார். யெகோவா என்றார். ‘இயேசு’ என்ற சொல் கொண்டு மனிதனானீர். உம்மை எங்கள் ‘இரட்சகர்’ என்கின்றோம். மனுக்குலம் தன்னை படைத்த பராபரனிடம் நெருங்கிச் சேர, இணைந்து வாழ, மனுவாக நீர் தோன்றி இறுதியில் ஓர் மரத்தில் நீசரில் நீர் ஒருவனாய் இரு கள்வர் நடுவில் தொங்க நோக்கத்துடன் பிறந்து விட்டீர்.

பிறந்த இடம் எது? எளிய மாட்டுக்கூடம், பிறந்ததோ மனுக்குலத்து இரட்சகர். அமைதியான இரவு, தனிமையான ஒர் இடம், செல்லம்போல் ஒர் பிள்ளை. கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து தனி மனிதனுக்காக பிறந்தார். மனம் எல்லாம் மகிழ்கின்றது. இருட்டில் இருந்தவர் வெளிச்சம் கண்டார், மரண பீதியில் வாடியவர் நம்பிக்கை பெற்றார். மனிதனுக்கும் மனிதனுக்கும் உள்ள தொடர்பு முழுமையானதல்ல,

மனிதனுக்கும் தெய்வத்திற்கும் உள்ள தொடர்பே முழுமையானது முக்கியமானதும் கூட. ஆதி தகப்பனால்
அறுந்து விட்ட தொடர்பு இவரது வருகையால் இணைப்பு கண்டது. உள்ளம் இன்பம் பெற்றது. அமைதி என்கிறார் அல்லது நிம்மதி என்கிறார். சமாதானம், ஆத்தும சாந்தி இது போன்ற பல சொற்கள். இச்சொற்கள் வாழும் இடம் எது? ஆத்தும சாந்தி எனக்கும் கிட்ட நான் செய்ய வேண்டியது என்ன?
நான் விரும்புவது உள்ளத்தில் சமாதானம். எத்தனையோ வித்தை கற்றேன், மனச் சமாதானத்தைக் காணவேயில்லை. அமைதி எங்கே? நிம்மதி உண்டா? என அலைந்து திரியும் அத்தனை பேருக்கும் அதனை அருளும் மாவல்ல மைந்தனாக பெத்லேகேமில் பிறந்து விட்டீர். உண்மையாகவே உம்மைப்போல் ஓர் நண்பர், ஓர் மீட்பர், ஓர் தெய்வம் இப்பாரினில் எங்கு காண்போம். கடலருகில் ஓடினேன், இரையும் அலையினையே கண்டேன் மலைமீது ஏறினேன். பெரும் தனிமை உணர்ச்சி மேலும் என்னை வருத்தியது.

வனாந்தரம் தேடினேன், வருத்தமோ நீங்கவில்லை. என்ன வருத்தம்? என்ன பிரச்சனை? என்னைப்பற்றியே
வருத்தம், என்னைப்பற்றியே பிரச்சனை. நேர்மையாக வாழ விரும்புகின்றேன், ஆனால் முடியவில்லை.
தூய்மையாக நிற்க ஆசை, ஆனால் அந்த ஆசை நிராசையானது. என்னையே என்னால் கட்டுப்படுத்த முடியவில்லை.

நான் விரும்பும் நன்மையினை செய்ய சக்தி என்னிடம் இல்லை. விரும்பாத தீமையினையே செய்கின்றேன்.
எனக்குள் இருக்கும் தீய சக்தி, பாவ உணர்ச்சி என்னை தவறு இழைக்க வற்புறுத்த நானும் பாவம் செய்ய மன நிம்மதியே இல்லை. என்னை நான் அடக்கி ஆள முடியாது என்னும் ஓர் முடிவுக்குள் வந்தேன். சந்திரனை கூட அடக்கி ஆள வலு உண்டு. ஆனால் மனிதனாகிய எனக்கு என்னையே அடக்கி ஆள வலிமையே இல்லை. கொடிய தவம், இடைவிடாத நோன்பு, பல நீண்ட பிரயாணம் எத்தனையோ செய்தும் நான் விரும்பும் நிம்மதி எனக்கு இல்லை. என்னை வெல்லும் சக்தியும் இல்லை. என்னை நான் வெல்ல, என்னிலும் வல்ல ஓர் சக்தி எனக்குத் தேவை என்ற ஓர் முடிவிற்கு வந்தேன்.

அத்தருணத்தில் தான் “வருத்தத்துடன் வாழ்க்கை நடத்தும் மனிதர்களே என்னிடம் வாருங்கள். நான் உங்களுக்கு மனச் சமாதானம் தருவேன்” என்ற உம்முடைய குரல் கேட்டது. மத்தேயு என்ற உமது அடியான் தனது நூலின் 11-ம் அதிகாரத்தின் இறுதி வரிகளாக இவைகளை எழுதியும் வைத்து விட்டான். இனி என்னை
அடக்கி ஆள்வதற்கு, என் உள்ளம் மகிழ்ந்து சமாதானம் பெற்று வாழ, எழுந்து என் மீட்பரிடம் செல்லுவேன் என்று தீர்மானித்தேன். ஆட்டிடையர் பெத்லேகேமிற்கு வந்தனர். நானோ உம்மை காண்பதற்காக கல்வாரிக்கு வந்தேன். தூரத்திலிருந்து வந்த அந்த சாஸ்திரிகள் பொன், வெள்ளைப்போளம்,

தூபவர்க்கம் இட்டு, உம்முடைய நாமத்தை பணிந்து கொண்டனர். நானோ என் உடல், உள்ளம் ஆத்துமா அனைத்தையுமே உமது காலடியில் சமர்ப்பித்து விட்டேன். பெத்லேகேம் திருக்குமாரா, தேவனின் திருப்பாலா, அன்னை மரியாளின் வயிற்றில் அற்புதமாய் உருவாகி ஏதோ ஒரு மாட்டுக் குடிலில்
வைக்கோல் போர்வையில் கள்ளம் கபடு இன்றி வெட்டும் உன் கண்கள் என் உள்ளத்தையே உடைக்கின்றது.
உமது தாழ்மை, உமது அன்பு, மனிதர்கள் மேல் உமது பாசம் யாரால் வரையறுக்க முடியும். உன்னதத்தில் மகிமை பூமியில் சமாதானம், மனிதர்மேல் மங்காத பாசம். கண்ணீர், கவலை, ஏமாற்றம், தனிமை, வியாதி, பணச்சிக்கல், வேலையில்லாமை, சமுகத்தில் ஏற்றதாழ்வு, நீதிக்கிட்டாமை என சொல்லொனா முட்கள் நடுவில் ஒரு ரோஜா மலராக மனிதன் பூக்க, மகிழ பாலகன் பிறந்து விட்டார். வாருங்கள்!

அனைவரும் வாருங்கள்! ஆயர்கள் சென்று விட்டனர், ஞானிகளும் புறப்பட்டனர். நீங்களும் வாருங்கள்!
கர்த்தராகிய இயேசு கிறிஸ்து உங்களை உண்மையாகவே நேசிக்கின்றார். நமக்காக பிறந்தார், நமக்காக மரித்தார், நமக்காக உயிர்த்தெழுந்தார். நம் நன்மைக்காக இப்பூமிக்கு இனி வர இருக்கின்றார். வாருங்கள்! இயேசுவை காண வாருங்கள்! தைரியமாக வாருங்கள்! இயேசு உங்களை கட்டுகிறவர். உங்கள் இல்லத்தை தூக்கி நிறுத்துகிறவர். நம்பிக்கையுடன் வாருங்கள். வந்த எவரையும் அவரது அன்பின் கரங்கள் நிராகரித்ததே இல்லை. திறந்த மனதுடன் வாருங்கள். சிறு குழந்தை தன் தகப்பனிடம், மனம் விட்டு பேசுவது போன்றே இயேசுவே என்னை உமது காலடிகளில் அர்ப்பணிக்கின்றேன் என்று உங்களையே காணிக்கையாக சமர்ப்பித்து விடுங்கள். “உன்னதத்திலிருக்கிற தேவனுக்கு மகிமையும் பூமியிலே சமாதானமும் மனுஷர்மேல் பிரியமும் உண்டாவதாக”. கர்த்தராகிய பராபரனே, பரம ராஜாவே, சர்வத்துக்கும் வல்ல பிதாவாகிய தேவனே, உம்மை துதிக்கிறோம். ஸ்தோத்தரிக்கின்றோம்.

உம்மிடத்தில் உள்ளம் திறந்து வந்து தங்கள் வாழ்க்கையின் கவலைகளை, பிரச்சனைகளை துயரங்களை
கூறும் அனைவரையும் ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளும். பெத்லேகேம் பாலன், கல்வாரி நேசன் இயேசுவின் நாமத்தில்
ஆமென், ஆமென்.

Offering Hope to Others

Theres a popular song that says Christmas is the “hap, hap, happiest time of the year!” But, the reality is: The holidays can be a real low point for some people, especially if they have been experiencing troubles in the past year.

Maybe you know someone like this. They have gone through one thing after another and now the holidays are approaching. They need more than reindeer and mistletoe; they need real comfort and guidance. Divine.

Sit down with your friend and tell him or her the story of Joseph in the Old Testament. Now theres a man who went through some tough times! His brothers beat him up and sold him into slavery. Joseph is then wrongly accused by his employer and sent to prison to rot.

Its a long story, and Ill let you read it with your friend, but the end result is Joseph trusts in God and becomes the second-in-command in Egypt. God gives him great power and wealth to oversee the people. Joseph even reunites with his family and says to his brothers, “You meant it for evil but God meant it for good.”

Pray with your friend and remind them that supernaturally Christ was born of the blessed Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. And later Christ died so we, like Joseph, can have strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow. God longs to use you, so speak up!

A Blue Christmas

Have you ever heard of the song, “Blue Christmas?” Elvis Presley used to sing it. Its about a man who is feeling down because his loved one is not with him on Christmas. Hes pretty depressed, really, and thats how a lot of people feel during the holidays. They feel alone, afraid and uncared for.

Maybe you or someone you know is going through a “Blue Christmas.” Perhaps you have had a disappointment this year. A tornado… a flood? Maybe youve lost a job. Maybe a family member died or theres something else that just didnt turn out the way you had planned.

The truth is: We live in a sinful, fallen world. Things dont always happen the way we expect. But the miracle of Christmas is hope because when Jesus Christ comes into our lives, hope comes alive. We have hope because God is with us. He is good and He will never leave us. Jesus comes to live in our hearts and transform us, giving us strength for today and hope for tomorrow.

If your friend is depressed, this Christmas invite her or him over for some hot cider. Encourage them with the promise found in Romans 8:28, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him.”

The Reward of Sharing

Years ago, when my wife and I, started to proactively try to reach our world, there was a Christian hymn that was sung very often in churches. I hum it to myself quite often, even now, years later.

This is the first verse, “So send I you to labor unrewarded, to serve unpaid, unloved and unsought, unknown. To bear rebuke, to suffer scorn, and scoffing. So send I you to toil for me alone.”

When I sang that song, I always used to think, I believe all those words except one… and that is the first line, “So send I you to labor, unrewarded…”

I believe theres a great reward in serving Jesus Christ. The biggest reward is when a person repents, believes in Jesus Christ, opens their heart, surrenders to Him, and begins to witness of the Love of God and the cross of Jesus Christ.

But you know there is a point to this verse, when it says, “unpaid, unloved, unsought, unknown…” Youve got to be ready, when you share the Good News of Jesus Christ that not everybody will applaud, not everybody will think that youre great, and not everybody will respond by faith.

So by faith, launch out, and expect God to reward you in His own way.

Godly Multiplication

I have a friend named Stephen Baldwin. Hes an actor in Hollywood. Stephen told me he used to be a pretty wild guy. Hed go to parties and nightclubs and was into a lot of drugs and drinking. Then one day, a Brazilian nanny came to live with him and his wife to help take care of their two girls. This woman, Augusta, was a cheerful Christian. She constantly sang songs about Jesus. Because of her witness, when the horrific events of 9/11 occurred in New York, Stephen and his family turned to Jesus!

Of course, Stephens lifestyle changed instantly. He didnt go to nightclubs and drink all the time. Suddenly he changed. It was very visible that something had happened to him. You should see Stephen now! He shares the Good News wherever he goes, especially with skateboarders and BMX bikers.

Stephen has a new life because Augusta invested in his soul. She was a fabulous example of 2nd Timothy 1:8: “Do not be ashamed to testify about our Lord.” Because Augusta shared her faith, Stephen Baldwin was changed forever. And now hes leading many young kids to Jesus. Thats what I call Godly multiplication! Let God use you to lead someone to His side – they may end up telling hundreds of others about the Lord.
