Love His Appearing

Do you know what it means to love the appearing of Jesus? The apostle Paul, in 2nd Timothy, says we are waiting for the crown that Jesus will give to all “who love His appearing.”

The appearing is when Jesus will come back to earth, to take all believers to Heaven with Him. So to love Christs return means to long for it, to talk about it, and to tell others about it.

Now, no one knows exactly when Jesus is returning. So it may be easy to become a bit lazy about loving His return. But, you also dont know when your own life will end. It could be any day. And when that happens, youll be held accountable for your thoughts, words, and actions. The question is: When our time on earth is done, will we be found faithful to Jesus Christ?

We dont have time to make excuses. Lets you and I make the most of every day we have here on earth by spreading the Good News. Theres no doubt about it, Jesus is coming back, and He wants to take as many people as possible with Him to Heaven. Thats why He calls us to share His love with people in our world.

Remember, its the enduring message of the cross, resurrection, and power of Jesus that changes people forever.

Safrin’s Story

Stories are powerful and can remind us of the bigger picture. You see, if we didnt share our stories with each other, we would not know what God is doing in other peoples lives.

But, since God designed us for relationships with people, He means for us to share whats going on in our lives and tell others how God is working.

Safrins story reminded me of Gods protection. Before she came to the Festival in Omaha this past summer, she knew her life needed to change. The day before the festival, she got a loud wakeup call.

The windows of Safrins car were shot out! She said, “By the grace of God, my life was spared in the gunfire.” But thats not all! She said the incident made her realize there really IS a God. She came to the Festival and rededicated her life to Jesus Christ!

Isnt that exciting! As the Psalms in the Bible declare, God is mightily protecting us. All it takes is one persons story to remind us of His protection.

Would you be so bold as to share YOUR story with someone today? Even if it doesnt seem interesting to you, you never know how God will use it. Your story might be just what someone needs to be reminded of Gods power and presence.

The Pastor and his Special Son

Every Sunday afternoon, after the morning service at the church, the Pastor and hiseleven year old son would go out into their town and hand out GospelTracts. This particular Sunday afternoon, as it came time for the Pastor and his son to go to the streets with their tracts, it was very cold outside, as well as pouring down rain.

The boy bundled up in his warmest and driest clothes and said, ‘OK, dad, I’m ready.’

His Pastor dad asked, ‘Ready for what? ‘Dad, it’s time we gather our tracts together and go out. Dad responds, ‘Son, it’s very cold outside and it’s pouring down rain.’

The boy gives his dad a surprised look, asking, ‘But Dad, aren’t people still going to Hell, even though it’s raining?
Dad answers, ‘Son, I am not going out in this weather.

De spondently, the boy asks, ‘Dad, can I go? Please? His father hesitated for a moment then said, ‘Son, you can go. Hereare the tracts, be careful son.

‘Thanks Dad! And with that, he was off and out into the rain. This eleven year old boy walked the streets of the town going door to door and handing everybody he met in the street aGospel Tract.

After two hours of walking in the rain, he was soaking, bone-chilled wet and down to his VERY LAST TRACT. He stopped on a corner and looked for someone to hand a tract to, but the streets were totally deserted.

Then he turned toward the first home he saw and started up thesidewalk to the front door and rang the door bell. He rang the bell, but nobody answered.

He rang it again and again, but still no one answered. He waited butstill no answer.
Finally, this eleven year old trooper turned to leave, but something stopped him.

Again, he turned to the door and rang the b ell and knocked loudly on the door withhis fist. He waited, something holding him there on the front porch!

He rang again and this time the door slowly opened.

Standing in the doorway was a very sad-looking elderly lady. Shesoftly asked, ‘Whatcan I do for you, son?’ With radiant eyes and a smile that lit up her world, thislittle boy said, ‘Ma’am, I’m sorry if f I disturbed you, but I justwant to tell youthat *JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU* and I came to give you my very lastGospel Tract which will tell you all about JESUS and His great LOVE.’

With that, he handed her his last tract and turned to leave. She called to him as he departed. ‘Thank you, son! And God Bless You! Well, the following Sunday morning in church Pastor Dad was in the pulpit. As theservice began, he asked, ‘Does anybody have testimony or want to sayanything?’

Slowly, in the back row of the church, an elderly lady stood to her feet.

As she began to speak, a look of glorious radiance came from her face,’No one in this church knows me. I’ve never been here before. You see, before last Sunday I was not a Christian. My husband passed on sometime ago, leaving me totally alone in this world. Last Sunday, beinga particularly cold and rainy day, it was even more so in myheart that I came to the end of the line where I no longer had anyhope or will to live.

So I took a rope and a chair and ascended the stairway into the atticof my home.. I fastened the rope securely to a rafter in the roof, then stood on thechair and fastened the other end of the rope around my neck. Standingon that chair, so lonely and brokenhearted I was about to leap off, when suddenly the loud ringing of my doorbell downstairs startled me.I thought, ‘I’ll wait a minute, and whoever it is will go away.’

I waited and waited, but the ringing doorbell seemed to get louderand more insistent, and then the person ringing also started knocking loudly.

I thought to myself again, ‘Who on earth could this be? Nobody ever rings my bell or comes to see me.’ I loosened the rope from my neck and started for the front door, all the while the bell rang louder and louder.

When I opened the door and looked I could hardly believe my eyes, forthere on myfront porch was the most radiant and angelic little boy I had everseen in my life..His SMILE, oh, I could never describe it to you!

The words that came from his mouth caused my heart that had long been dead, TO LEAP TO LIFE as he exclaimed with a cherub-like voice, ‘Ma’ am, I just cameto tell you that JESUS REALLY DOES LOVE YOU.’ Then he gave me this

Gospel Tract that I now hold in my hand.

As the little angel disappeared back out into the cold and rain, I closed my door and read slowly every word of this Gospel Tract. Then I went up to myattic to get myrope and chair. I wouldn’t be needing them any more.

You see– -I am now a Happy Child of the KING. Since the address of your church was on the back of this Gospel Tract, I have come here topersonall y sayTHANK YOU to God’s little angel who came just in the nick of time andby so doing, spared my soul from an eternity in hell.

There was not a dry eye in the church. And as shouts of praise and honor to THE KING resounded off the very rafters of the building,Pastor Dad descended from the pulpit to the front pew where the little angel was seated.

He took his son in his arms and sobbed uncontrollably.

Probably no church has had a more glorious moment, and probably this universe has never seen a Papa that was more filled with love & honor for his son…. Except for One.

Our Father also allowed His Son to go out into a cold and dark world. He received His Son back with joy unspeakable, and as all of heavenshouted praises and honor to The King, the Father sat His beloved Son on a throne far above all principality and power and every name that is named.

Average or Avid?

Lets say youre not merely an average basketball fan, lets say you make great sacrifices to support your hobby. You buy season tickets to watch your favorite team. You wear your teams colors. Not even a stranger could mistake your love for basketball!

Now, thats an AVID fan – they are FANATIC you could say. Theres also the AVERAGE fan. This person says he likes basketball. But the average fan really doesnt have a favorite team, doesnt care if he misses a game, and wouldnt pay for tickets, for sure.

When it comes to following Jesus Christ, are you a fanatic, so to speak? Or are you like the “average” basketball fan? Are you content with missing opportunities to reach your world for Jesus? Are you satisfied being just an “average,” instead of ACTIVE, Christian?

In the Bible Jesus says, “He who is not for me is against me, and he who does not gather with me, scatters.” When you are not living all-out for Jesus, you are not engaging in the spiritual battle for eternal souls.

Today I ask you again: are you a threat to the Kingdom of Darkness? Are you actively sharing as well as living your faith? People really do need to hear the Good News of eternal life and forgiveness.

I was reading in John 17 just this morning, and boy was I challenge that people need to hear that God is calling them. So do it, and be Gods mouthpiece.

Freedom from Sins

I have a friend in England named Jim Perry. Jim and his wife

Veronica are believers, and love the Lord Jesus. But it wasnt always that way.

Jim was into the occult for many years. At times he wanted to get out, but didnt know how. Jim was miserable, haunted by the things done at the satanic gatherings.

Then, Jim met Veronica, who was a serious follower of Jesus. Jim says that Veronica had a peace about her that he had been searching for for years.

So when Veronica invited Jim to hear me speak at a stadium in London, Jim accepted. That night, Jim heard about the forgiveness and love that Christ offers – even to the vilest offender as he called himself.

On his second visit, Jim decided to trust Jesus Christ as His Savior, and he finally received peace from God and liberation from demonic forces and perversions.

Jesus offers that same peace to you and me this Easter season. Because He rose from the grave and is alive today, He has the power to forgive and purify us and set us free. Theres no more guilt, no more shame.

Psalm 34:5 says “Those who look to Him are radiant; their faces are never covered in shame.”

If youve never opened your heart to Christ, I hope that youll do it this Easter season. Remember, Jesus Chris is alive, and He offers you complete peace with God. Isnt that what youre searching for?
