Speak Boldly
Many years ago my team and I were hosting a live call-in television show in one of our festival cities. A woman named Karen called in. She had lost three babies due to miscarriages and she and her husband were desperate to have a child. They were going to fertility clinics, but nothing seemed to help.
Because of her situation, she really wanted to know if there was a God who could help her. Karen told me, “One of my friends invited me to a Bible study, and the women in that study keep telling me I need to be saved and born again. What exactly does this mean?” she asked.
We discussed the Good News together, and although she wasn’t ready to make a decision, the seed was planted. As I thought about Karen’s situation, I was so impressed by the faithful, bold women in her Bible study. To tell somebody with such truthfulness that they need Jesus Christ is practicing the character of Jesus Himself.
Proverbs 28:1 says, “The righteous are as bold as a lion.” Is there someone you can be bold with this week? Perhaps they are struggling with a crisis, as Karen was. By speaking boldly about their need for God, you may have the opportunity to lead them to His Son!
