The Great Awakening

In the 18th century, Great Britain was suffering from great spiritual and moral decay. The Prime Minister lived openly with a mistress. Every sixth house in London was a bar. Boys and girls were working in factories. The jails were a disaster. The dying church had lost its power because preachers weren’t teaching the pure Gospel message.

But in the midst of this decay, there arrived on the scene three young men who were passionate for Jesus and for their country. They were John and Charles Wesley, and George Whitfield.

These men traveled all over England teaching the basic Good News message. They persevered day and night. And with that Godly, smallish group, the Great Awakening began and an entire country was changed!

Galatians 6:9 reminds us to “not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest.” Don’t give up! By sharing the truth of Christ each day, you could see revival happen in your world, too!
