Spiritual Action
When my father became a Christian, he wanted to share Jesus Christ with as many people as he could.
As a boy, I accompanied him on evangelistic forays in town and out in the countryside. We kids rode on benches in the back of one of my dad’s trucks and folded evangelistic tracts to pass out. Our efforts were often greeted with insults, derision, stones, and worse.
When the Lord puts me through the wringer, I have found that the best thing to do is to fall on my knees and pray. “Do not let your hearts be troubled,” Jesus said. “Trust in God; trust also in me” [John 14:1-2].
If we love the Lord, then we have to remember two things: First, the Lord is always working for good in our lives to fulfill His holy purpose. Second, even in the hardest times, we must say, “I love you, Lord, and I trust You; therefore I will obey You.”
Are you going through a difficult season of life? Do not let your heart be discouraged; fall on your knees and tell God that you love, trust, and obey Him. As you trust God, you will give others the courage to do the same.
